Description
Our space is a two-studio complex on Chicago's Northwest side. Ample space in a true professional recording studio with a long history.. Our studio is owned by well-known audio engineer Steve Albini, who purchased the building in 1995 and completely gutted and built it out as a recording studio. Construction completed in 1997, and while best known for recording Rock bands the world over, Electrical has housed top-tier Jazz, Classical/ New Music, "World Music," Gospel, HipHop, and Electronic music projects over the years.Studio A is a voluminous, world-class recording environment capable of recording a full orchestra or gospel choir (or even both simultaneously!). A number of film and video shoots have used Studio A, with clients including Fox's Empire, Lincoln Motor Company, HBO's Foo Fighters series Sonic Highways, and countless music videos.Studio B is the "little brother" studio, beloved by audio engineers and artists for its lush room sound and home-iness. Both studios feature multiple tracking rooms (with well-maintained grand pianos) and control rooms. We have an abundance of backline that musicians can use on sessions without extra charge. We have an incredible mic locker stocked with vintage and modern tube, ribbon, condenser, and dynamic mics.

Absolutely no harassment allowed, sexual or otherwise. No racist, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise inane comments, and we reserve the right to cancel your session immediately and kick you out if you say something we or anyone around finds offensive.No drugs. Be cool, be respectful of staff and others in the space.No permanent modifications of the space (drilling, changing fixtures, etc). whatsoever.
