The Twelve Oaks is a gorgeous historic antebellum c. 1836 Greek revival mansion with gardens, pool and pond and located in the Atlanta metro area. . Built in 1836 (before the city of Atlanta was even established), this is one of the largest and most significant historic houses in Georgia. At close to 12,000 square feet, it has large rooms with lots of natural light painted in neutral colors with period furnishings. The home was meticulously restored [xxxxxxx] . There are 12 bedrooms and 12 1/2 baths to choose from along with a grand staircase and ballroom/grand dining. This home has a long history with Hollywood going back to 1939 when Margaret Mitchell sent a photo to David Selznick with her notes on it that read "Twelve Oaks" and "I like this for Ashley's home". This can be seen in the book David O. Selznick's Gone with the Wind. More recently, it has been in the following: Life of the Party with Melissa McCarthy (2018), Step Up: High Water (2018), Survivors Remorse (2017), Georgias Most Romantic Places on PBS (2016), Vacation (2015) , Bessie (2015) starring Queen Latifah (the historic carriage house was used as a bar), Southern Fried Homicide (2015), The Vampire Diaries (2010 and 2015), National commercial for Cindy Crawford (2012) for her furniture line, Halloween II (2009), Madeas Family Reunion (2006), and In the Heat of the Night ( [xxxxxxx] )- multiple episodes.
